[POSITION FILLED JULY 18, 2011. Thank you for your interest.] June 2011 - World Policy Journal is seeking a managing editor. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with writers from around the world and shaping in detail long-form magazine pieces up to 5,000 words. He or she should have a good sense of how the world works, with a compelling interest in and broad understanding of international affairs. The managing editor should also be comfortable helping to recruit authors and set the direction of the magazine’s blog and website, working with talented interns and managing the workflow of the quarterly magazine. Strong structural, line, and copy editing skills are essential, as are grace under deadline pressure and ability to work as part of a team. InDesign skills are an added advantage.
The managing editor will report to the Editor of World Policy Journal, David A. Andelman. Salary is commensurate with experience and competitive with peer organizations.
