Well written article..Re-emphasizes the point that international relations is not about morality but self-interest...The rich nations should even in this case see their own self-interest in helping Pakistan at this time because the spillover effects of the floods will be long lasting and potentially lethal in economic, political,social and security terms...This self-interest is all too obvious and its up to the rich nations to take notice and see such self-interest in longer terms rather than just looking at a short term picture and making excuses about being tight fisted... I was also especially disappointed by the luke warm (or even freezing cold, at times) response of some of the Islamic countries (so much for Islamic brotherhood!!)...Well, let's hope everyone sees the common sense in helping Pakistan....
