Dr. Ehrenfeld,
Thank you for a fascinating article on something I knew absolutely nothing about. However, I am a bit distressed at your indiscriminate use of the word "Islamic" to denote a radical terrorist movement as opposed to a religion. You surely know from your work on narco-terrorism that we in Colombia have a lot of problems with illegal groups that make life miserable for people inside and outside our country. But it would be totally inappropriate to use the word "Colombian" as a synonym for immoral criminals, because most of us do not fit that description. In fact, even within our country the government's irresponsible equating of liberal or progressive groups with radical insurgents has at times led to political persecution and massacres.
To conclude, thank you for elucidating me on an inappropriate use of libel laws. I hope I've alerted you to the dangers of irresponsible language, which is what libel laws good and bad seek to correct.
