irresponsible word use

"The Islamic agenda?" "Blair recognizes that 'Islam's roots are deep, its tentacles are long?'" What kinds of statements are these? Is there some sarcasm here that I haven't yet detected? Did this one really get past the editor without any red ink? These sentences seem to have been pulled directly out of the "Protocol of the Elder's of Zion," "Jews" and "Jewish" having been replaced by "Islam" and "Islamic." The WPJ has lost some standing in my eyes.
