When the New York Post started its campaign against the presumed victim, with its statements that she was a prostitute, and the incident was merely an argument over payment, the case was lost for the presumed victim.
We are told, in France, that DSK is his own best lawyer and that it is he who is controlling the strategy and actions of his defence team. The New York Post stated it was quoting sources close to the defence.
I realize DSK is a politician and he has been involved in most of the murkier corruption scandals we have had over the last dozen years.But that is natural - he's a politician.
However, this vicious unfounded lying attack against a fairly defenceless victim suggests a cynicism and amorality that sets DSK apart.
His support and political credibility is fast waning in France.
