Illuminating the Arts-Policy Nexus 

German's zero science based hatred of nuclear, supported by German Big Coal, has caused the horrible deaths of hundreds of thousands of European citizens and the sickness of many more from air pollution. Hundreds of square miles of European landscape has been destroyed with deadly toxic forever ash dumps. By contrast nuke power has never killed a single person in its entire history and all the worlds nuke waste can fit on a football fuel awaiting destruction in generation 4 reactors. Germans have always been enthusiastic supporters of failed political causes embracing the deaths of millions and environmental devastation as necessary sacrifices for their foolish causes. As they replace their nukes with massive construction of new gas and coal plants, thousands more Euro citizens will die from the resultant air pollution. Their renewable nonsense is just that as their wind and solar must be backed up at 100% of name plate capacity with filthy gas plant, The wind/solar/gas scam gets almost all it energy from the inefficient gas plant run inefficiently. The wind energy and its 5 times sized transmission lines are being stopped by angered environmentalists all over Germany. Virtually all the wind energy which comes mostly at night has to be dumped to other country for free as it comes when nobody needs it. Until some cheap form of storage comes along at less than today's pumped hydro at $1 a watt, there is no hope for renewables - its just another scam. Sweden, Holland, Britain, France and Eastern Europe have embraced nuke power, and will become the drivers of European industry while Germany pollutes the world with its stupid renewable experiment turned into filthy fossil fuel development. Eventually it will be ostracized as a rogue nation. China,a country run by engineers, instead of the half witted attorneys that rule Germany, has completely abandoned renewables except for export to suckers in the west. It has embraced nuclear and hydro for its energy future. Sealing Germany's doom is the predicted industrial scale development of the Chinese molten salt reactor, within the next 5 years. This unit which can be shipped on rail cars, can power the world for a thousand years, burning existing nuclear waste, and do it for less than a cent a kwh. With Germany's all renewable energy cost heading towards a a dollar and half a kwh, it economic future is dim indeed.
