I live in Cyprus and the authors are correct about recent events, but I don't think things are going to get that bad. There will be some recalibration of living standards for the locals but ex-pats will be more or less untouched. The only Cypriots who need to be worried are the ones working in the financial sector. Maybe this will start forcing them to improve their service for tourists and better value for visitors.
