Joseph A. Cari Jr. is Chair of the World Policy Institute, a non-partisan center for global thought leadership, as well as Chairman and CEO of Integration Capital & Trade Global, an international merchant co-development bank. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and served as Chairman and CEO of Integration Capital & Trade, an international merchant bank, and continues to serve on its board of directors in Oman and Saudi Arabia.  

Appointed by U.S. President Clinton to serve as Chairman of the Board of the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, Cari’s accomplishments include leading a bipartisan board, increasing funding and maintaining strong relations with a Republican- controlled Congress. Cari also played a key role in recruiting the Honorable Lee Hamilton as Director of the Center and supported Congressman Hamilton’s appointment to Co-Chair of the 9/11 Commission.  

Cari has lectured on foreign policy and U.S. presidential politics at the Lebanese American University in Beirut, Villanova University in Philadelphia, and Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where he also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Institute for Leadership Studies. He received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of Notre Dame and has also served as a Fellow at the John. F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
