Age of Greed
WPI Senior Fellow Jeff Madrick describes the history of how greed has bred America’s economic ills over the last forty years, and of the men most responsible for them. He recounts the single-minded pursuit of huge personal wealth that has been on the rise in the United States since the 1970s, led by a few individuals who have argued that self-interest guides society more effectively than community concerns.

ARMS TRADE RESOURCE CENTER Dear Friends, Happy New Year! We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming meeting of the Study Group on Economics of Security in the Post-9/11 World. The Bush Administration will present its Fiscal Year 2006 budget in early February 2005. Early indications suggest that the military budget might grow less than previously thought, and that some long-standing programs are being re-evaluated. David Gold and William Hartung will lead a discussion of the U. S. military budget, its composition, projections regarding its growth and the implications for military policy and budgetary politics. Please join us for this timely discussion: RSVP to berrigaf@newschool.edu We look forward to your participation. Sincerely, David Gold |
