It's a Funny World

With the Taliban going strong and the polar ice caps melting away, we wouldn’t blame you for feeling like there's nothing to laugh about - until now. You may not have thought policy wonks were funny, but we’re about to prove you wrong with a special evening of international stand-up comedy benefiting World Policy Journal
featuring professional comedians and friends of the World Policy Institute:

- Ophira Eisenberg
- WPI Senior Fellow Ian Bremmer
- Kevin Bleyer
- Robert George
- Emcee Christian Finnegan

Monday, September 13

7 -8:30 pm

ARMS TRADE RESOURCE CENTER

Dear Friends,

Thanks to all of you who participated in last month's discussion on the military budget.

For our February 25th meeting of the Study Group on the Economics of Security in the Post 9-11 World, we are pleased to announced that Leon V. Sigal will be presenting on North Korea, and continuing multi-lateral efforts for non-proliferation there.

Mr. Sigal, who is just back from meetings in the region, is the director of the Northeast Asia Cooperative Security Project at the Social Science Research Council in New York. His most recent book, Hang Separately: Cooperative Security Between the United States and Russia, 1985-1994, was published by the Century Foundation in 2000.

We will send out more information about Sigal's talk next week. But, in the meantime, mark the meeting in your calendar, and let us know if you can participate.
