Recognizing the ongoing relevance of the Darfur tragedy, World Policy Journal is now offering new subscribers, or current subscribers who renew for two years, a free DVD of the acclaimed documentary, The Devil Came on Horseback, about Steidle's quest to get help for Darfur. World Policy Journal was the first to publish Steidle's photographs which alerted the world to the ethnic cleansing going on there.

Our presenter will be Mia Bloom, Fellow at the Center for Global Security and Democracy at Rutgers University. Dr. Bloom also consults for the New Jersey Office of Counter-Terrorism and is a member on the Council of Foreign Relations. An expert on terrorism, rape in war, and child soldiers, Dr. Bloom’s research explores human rights violations against civilians in times of war and subsequent government responses. She will be discussing her forthcoming book, "DYING TO KILL: The Global Phenomenon of Suicide Terror," which will be published by Columbia University Press in June 2005.
